Tyro Mill SOLD
Nelson County, Virginia
1846-1847
Tyro Mill was purchased by the Revolving Fund Program in 2004 and sold in 2005. The Mill is individually listed on the Virginia Landmarks Register and the National Register of Historic Places. The property is under protective easement with the Virginia Department of Historic Resources.The Mill is four stories high with a massive stone foundation and is timber-framed above. It appears to date from the 18th century and retains almost all of its original mill equipment as well as remnants of a 19th or early 20th century post office. The owners are restoring the property.
