Jamestown Rediscovery

Household Furnishings

Since only the metal elements from furnishings and other household equipment survive archaeologically, it is not possible to know the full range of objects that the colonists used to furnish their living quarters. The artifacts we have found give hints that the men, or at least the gentlemen, brought things they thought would make their lives more comfortable in their tents or rustic cottages.
