Trumpet Mouthpiece

This is a brass mouthpiece to a trumpet found in Pit 1. Trumpets were used during European military maneuvers to direct the troops. They were also necessary aboard ship to signal other vessels. Nuremberg, Germany, was the major center for trumpet production in the 17th century.
