Pewter Ornament

Jamestown Rediscovery

ornament

This pewter ornament in the form of an amaryllis came from Pit 3. It could have ornamented a small box but objects such as this were also often given as tokens of love or loyalty. Could this have been given to a loved one who was travelling to an unknown fate in Virginia?
