  Border ware Vessel

Border ware is a type of English earthenware that comes from the border area of Surrey and Hampshire counties. It dates from the late 16th-early 17th century. This double walled vessel was found in Pit 3. It is unusual to find this form archaeologically. The Museum of London has a few in their collections but it's exact function is not known at this time. Suggested functions have ranged from holy water vessels, to pots for use in gardening.
