We are an active Branch of several hundred members. Besides having regular educational programs (see calendar) and social events, we maintain and staff four historic house museums in downtown Fredericksburg: the Mary Washington House, Rising Sun Tavern, Hugh Mercer Apothecary Shop and St. James' House. We always have a wide variety of volunteer opportunities and welcome all members to help us share these important sites with the public.
Docent
Tour guide for the St. James’ House. It is open 1-4 pm in April for Garden Week and also the first week of October. Volunteers are needed for as many shifts as they would care to work.

Financial Committee
Review budget and investments. Meets twice a year.

Furnishings Committee
Review collections and any concerns about placement or repair needs. It meets as needed.

Garden

Heritage Club
Formed in 2010, this is a group of younger members who have their own activities and projects. They will use their special energies and talents to support our overall mission and guide us toward the 125th Branch Anniversary in 2015.

History Camp
Camp for children age 8-12. This program is a partnership with Kenmore and Ferry Farm. Our 2011 camp will be held June 20-24 from
9 am - noon. You can work for the whole week or daily as your schedule permits.

Hospitality Committee
Help with social events. There are two or three a year.

Membership Committee
Help with recruiting new members and retaining former members. It meets as needed.

Museum Gift Shop
Staff the shop from a few hours a week to a few hours a month, your choice. Flexible scheduling each month according to your availability.

Program Committee

Special Events
"OUR LIVING LEGACIES". An annual special event featuring exhibits and demonstrations honoring the crafts of the 18th and 19th centuries, next to be held September 7-9, 2012. On Friday evening of this event, we have a Champagne Reception for branch members.
